Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi is committed to providing top-notch dental care to the Olympia community. With expertise in general dentistry, dentures, and orthodontic treatments, he focuses on patient comfort and customized care.

Dr. Wisam has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. He finished his dental school training from the University of Baghdad College of Dentistry in 2004 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree. He obtained his master degree M.Sc in oral imaging from K.U.Leuven in Belgium in 2006. He continued his education in oral diagnosis and dental imaging at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with his second master’s degree M.S. in oral and maxillofacial radiology in 2009.

Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi taught oral radiology full time as an assistant professor for several years at the University of Case Western Reserve and the University of Michigan. He published several papers and participated in national and international conferences. He trained several classes of dental students and dental hygiene students.

Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi attended the accelerated DDS program at the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan and he obtained his DDS degree in 2015. Since then, he has been practicing general dentistry in private practice settings serving patients of all ages. He also served in federally qualifying health centers (FQHCs) and Indian health services (IHS) clinics in Michigan, Texas, California, and Washington.

Throughout his professional career. Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi put patients’ care first and foremost. Offering kind and honest dentistry to patients. He uses his educational training background to educate patients about what he sees on x-rays and clinically, so patients understand what’s going on in their mouth and how to take care of their teeth.

He presents treatment plans to patients in an easy-to-understand fashion. He takes time to allow the anesthetic to work fully to minimize discomfort to patients. He sees patients of all ages. Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi stays up to date with the latest advances in dentistry and attends continuing education courses regularly.

Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi (Captain Al-Rawi) is serving as a captain dentist in the U.S. Army Reserves Dental Corp since Feb. 2020. He is loyal to his patients and his country. He served in different missions to provide better access to care and support his service members.

Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi is married to his wife Nada. She works as a civil engineer in Washington State Department of Transportation in Lacey, WA. They enjoy outdoors activities and national parks. You might run into them hiking trails around Olympia.
