Unparalled Diagnosis and Implants Treatment Planning

3D Imaging

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

We utilize CBCT technology to provide precise, 3D imaging for improved diagnosis and treatment planning. Unlike traditional dental X-rays, CBCT scans capture detailed images of the teeth, bone, and airways, ensuring a comprehensive view of oral structures

Benefits of CBCT Imaging:

  • Enhanced Diagnostic Accuracy: Provides high-resolution, 3D images for a more precise evaluation of dental and bone structures.

  • Low Radiation Exposure: Uses significantly less radiation compared to conventional medical CT scans.

  • Efficient & Quick Scanning: A full scan takes only seconds, minimizing patient discomfort.

  • Improved Treatment Planning: Essential for complex procedures like dental implants, root canals, orthodontics, and oral surgery.

  • Better Patient Education: Helps patients visualize their condition and understand recommended treatments.

Applications of CBCT in Dentistry:

  • Dental Implants: Accurately assesses bone density and nerve positioning for optimal implant placement.

  • Endodontics (Root Canals): Detects root fractures, infections, and canal anatomy with exceptional clarity.

  • Orthodontics: Aids in evaluating jaw alignment, impacted teeth, and treatment planning for braces or aligners.

  • TMJ & Airway Analysis: Assesses temporomandibular joint disorders and airway obstructions related to sleep apnea.

  • Oral Surgery & Pathology: Detects cysts, tumors, and abnormalities that may not be visible on traditional X-rays.

What to Expect During a CBCT Scan:

  1. Preparation: You will be asked to remove any metal objects, such as jewelry or eyeglasses, to avoid image distortions.

  2. Patient Positioning: You will either stand or sit in a designated position within the CBCT machine. A chin rest, head stabilizers, or straps may be used to ensure minimal movement for accurate imaging.

  3. Machine Rotation & Image Capture: The CBCT machine will rotate 360 degrees around your head, capturing multiple images from different angles. These images are then reconstructed into a detailed 3D model.

  4. Quick & Painless Process: The entire scan takes between 10 to 40 seconds, depending on the area being examined. There is no discomfort, and the process is entirely non-invasive.

  5. Image Processing & Review: The scan data is immediately processed and converted into a high-resolution 3D model. Our dentist will analyze the images, explain the findings, and discuss treatment options if necessary.

CBCT for Dental Implants & Surgical Guides:

CBCT imaging plays a crucial role in modern dental implantology by enhancing precision, safety, and predictability in implant placement. The high-resolution 3D scans allow for a comprehensive assessment of the patient's bone structure, nerve pathways, and sinus positioning, ensuring optimal implant placement and longevity.

Benefits of CBCT for Dental Implants:

  • Bone Quality & Quantity Assessment: Determines if there is sufficient bone for implant placement or if bone grafting is necessary.

  • Nerve & Sinus Positioning: Prevents complications by accurately mapping nerve locations and sinus cavities.

  • Customized Treatment Planning: CBCT data is used to design a fully guided implant placement approach, improving accuracy and reducing risks.

  • Predictable Outcomes: Ensures the implant is placed at the correct depth, angle, and position for long-term success.

Surgical Guides and Their Role:

A surgical guide is a 3D-printed or milled template created using CBCT scans and digital impressions. These guides act as a blueprint for precise implant placement, reducing surgical time and improving accuracy.

  • Increased Precision: Guides the drill and implant placement for an exact fit.

  • Minimized Surgical Trauma: Reduces incision size and healing time.

  • Enhanced Safety: Lowers the risk of damaging nerves or adjacent structures.

  • Shorter Procedure Time: Allows for more efficient surgeries with reduced chair time.
